Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Round Table

Founded in 1970, the GLBTRT was originally known as the Task Force on Gay Liberation. The GLBRTR is America's first gay, lesbian & bisexual professional organization. They present programs at ALA's annual conference and head discussions of topics including the future of gay books for children, collection development, and mainstreaming gay publishing. They also present annual Stonewall Book Awards to the best books with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered themes.
